We were notified last night that an attendee at our 5:30 PM New Year’s Eve Vigil Mass on Thursday, 12/31/20 at St. Francis of Assisi Church, tested positive for COVID-19.
As you know, we enforce mask wearing, seat attendees at 6′ distances in pews and guide other movement during Mass with the same caution. We have been taking the temperature of each attendee as they enter the church since Braintree went “COVID-RED” last month. We clean/disinfect the church after each service.
We emailed and/or phoned each attendee and volunteer (31 in total) from that mass’s contact tracing list to inform them of the positive test.
We trust the likelihood of contracting the virus due to this potential exposure is minimal. However, we urge you to take appropriate steps if you feel sick and to contact your physician for guidance.
As is also required, we have reported this information to the Archdiocese of Boston COVID Response team and the Braintree Board of Health.
Our continued prayer is for the good health and safety of you and your family.
